How to Remove A Tick

 HOW TO REMOVE A TICK

Ticks are blood-sucking parasites responsible for the transmission of several diseases to dogs, cats and humans. If you find a tick on your dog, put on non-latex gloves, place a small amount of tick spray (you can also use alcohol, mineral oil or petroleum jelly but tick spay is best) on a gauze sponge, cotton ball or paper towel and hold it over the tick. This will cause the tick to start to back out in 30-60 seconds. When the tick starts to back out, grab the entire tick with a pair of tweezers. Flush the tick down the toilet. Apply a disinfectant such as alcohol or an antibiotic ointment to the site of the tick bite. A local reaction may occur around where the tick was attached – this is normal. Now you and your dog can relax!
